Comments from the Webmistress:
This is my favorite Fleetwood Mac album and I don't care who knows it. Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks brought a lot to the table in terms of talent, but - to my mind - Billy Burnette and Bekka Bramlett bring just as much. Sadly, however, most Fleetwood Mac fans ignore or dismiss this album (even to the point of saying that it's "not really Fleetwood Mac") and, with next to no promotion on the part of Warner Bros. and a changing musical climate ("dinosaur rock" in a time of grunge), the album did not do well commercially.
Still, Burnette, Bramlett, Christine McVie and newcomer (read "former member of Traffic") Dave Mason all shine and bring us some of their best material. A startling and pleasant surprise is the contribution of Mac-daddy Mick Fleetwood, with his spoken word track "These Strange Times."
